Ignition Casino Review

Ignition Casino is a US-only website with a casino and poker room and is structured for more of a recreational bettor. Bitcoin allows for fee-free transactions, and faster payouts, as well as a better welcome bonus and a 25%, reload offer up to $1,000 every week. Over 200 slot games provide a decent variety plus some higher progressive jackpots.

Ignition just launched in 2016, but the site may look familiar to you even if you’ve never visited it before. It’s a duplicate of Bovada and Bodog except for sportsbook availability. The entire site, from the graphics to the FAQs, to the way it’s organized is a near identical match, and it makes sense as it’s owned by Lynton Limited and advertised by Betting Partners just like Bovada, Bodog, and Slots.lv.

In addition to the sportsbook, you won’t find a live casino here either but, rather, slot games, table games, video poker, and some specialty games as well as a poker room that was purchased from Bovada in 2016.

As it is an American servicing betting site, we didn’t expect much in the way of deposit and withdrawal options, and we were right on target. Whereas sites in other regions have lists of alternative funding methods like e-wallets and prepaid options, there aren’t as many from which to select in the states. Bitcoin is a good choice, though. It’s the one method that allows for quick and easy approvals and turnarounds.

We will warn you, though, selecting any other deposit method aside from Bitcoin is going to cost you, and big. Use an American Express card, and you’re looking at a 9.9% deposit fee. Did you catch that? We said deposit fee. You lose nearly 10% before you even place one single bet.

Another heads up for potential new players, as this site was formerly regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission in Canada where Lynton Limited is based. But in September of 2016, Kahnawake changed its policies regarding US-servicing providers, so Ignition was one of a handful of operators who had to surrender its online license. To date, a replacement agency has not been secured, at least nothing has been made public.

Is this there a complete listing of financial options and details available to the general public?

Yes and no. We’d prefer to see a dedicated page where every method is included along with fees, minimum and maximum amounts, and turnaround times. It makes it much easier for a potential player to eyeball the possibilities.

However, we did find enough listed in different areas of the terms and conditions and FAQs to put together our list to provide to you.

Bonuses and Promotions

This relatively new site didn’t go out on a limb to provide some creative bonus promotions. They’re all pretty standard with deposit matches on the welcome offer as well as reloads. For players that are looking for those value-adds, though, the maximum award limit is substantial compared to some of its competitors.

Welcome Bonus Option One – 100% up to $2,000:
This award splits into two with half allocated to casino play and the other half to poker. New players can get a 100% match up to $1,000 to play casino games but have a 25 times wagering requirement to meet on the deposit and bonus combined. For poker, it works differently. Points need to be accumulated to trigger a partial bonus at various levels. For example, 15 points release $5, 85 points provides for another $20, all the way up to 10,000 points for the total $1,000. Poker players have 30 days to complete the award structure.

Welcome Bonus Option Two – Bitcoin Bonus – 200% up to $2,000:
Casino players only can take advantage of this one and must use Bitcoin as their method of deposit. It’s a straightforward program. Enter the code that’s provided on the website to activate the bonus and then receive a 200% match for up to $2,000 in play cash that comes with a 25 times rollover.

Tell a Friend – 200% up to $100:
When your friend makes a deposit, you reap the benefit of a 200% deposit match for a total of $100 maximum. Don’t think it’s just cash in the bank though. You have to play it through 25 times just like any other bonus award.

10% Free Bonus up to $1,000:
This is another deposit match because it provides for 10% back on your deposited amount but that refund is in the form of a rollover-required bonus. This time, it’s steeper though. You need to play that cash back amount 50 times over. You also need to make your deposit via credit card or rapid transfer.

Bitcoin Reload Bonus – 25% up to $1,000:
Not only is the percentage higher by transferring funds via Bitcoin, but the play through drops considerably from 50 times in the 10% free bonus offer to just ten times by using Bitcoin. Hey, we’re still not fans of rollovers, but ten is way better than 50!

The Weekly Boost – 100% up to $700 weekly:
This is another reload bonus option where you can claim 100% up to $100 daily. There is a rollover requirement, but this one isn’t publicly posted.

Ignition Rewards – an eight-tier VIP program:
With the rewards program, you accumulate points to move up a level. Every $1.00 bet on slots and $4.00 on the other casino games equates to one point. You start at the Steel level and work up to Diamond. Every time you move up, you unlock new benefits like better reload bonuses, promotions, gifts, free withdrawals, all the way up to a personal VIP host and expedited cash outs.

Bonus Considerations:
Not all games provide at the same percentage toward the rollover that’s required to be met. In fact, the welcome bonus percentages are lower than the reload bonuses as follows:

Welcome bonus contribution::

  • Slots – 100%
  • Table – 20%
  • Video Poker and some Blackjack – 10%
  • Single and Double Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat – 5%
  • Craps – 0%

For reloads, everything remains the same except::

  • Table increases from 20% to 60%
  • Video Poker and some Blackjack goes up from 10% to 30%

The amount has both the deposit and the bonus award factored in together.

Time to Play

Total Number of Casino Games: 265.

Mobile Casino: 129 games are available for mobile play, and the site is set up similarly including representation from every gaming category including video poker, table games, and specialty.

Software: A lot of newer i-Casinos will prominently post the software they use right on the homepage or allow players to sort based on provider. Unfortunately, that’s not the case here. We were able to determine that Rival Gaming, RTG (Real Time Gaming), and Spinomenal are responsible for most of the catalog, but we wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few more in the mix.

Number of Slots: 202.

Mobile Slots: 95.

Types: 3-reel, 5-reel, I-slots, progressives, Real Series.

It’s not the biggest collection we’ve seen but incorporating real series, and I-slots shakes things up a bit.

Real Series is provided by RTG and are best described by one key word “random.” There are two prize levels, one grand and one smaller and they’re both awarded via random bonus rounds. It may not sound like a big difference but, if you don’t want to play the maximum bet, you’re still in on top jackpot action as it’s not triggered through pay line wagering.

I-slots are identified by the skill-based mini games that comprise their extra pay rounds. Players are asked to line up objects or click on as many things as they can in a specified time. The more successful the player is in the specified task, the more money he or she wins. I-slots also have a storyline that intertwines with game play and could feature video clips during bonus play. As the Reels Turn is one of the more well-known titles and now has two sequels out in slot form.

Real Series and I-slots combined with progressive jackpot opportunities take a rather small list of slot games to the next level.

The following is a small sampling of the games in each category. If we’ve noted a jackpot amount, it’s the currently published prize at the time of this writing and will be different when you check out the site.

Table Games

Number of Games: 17.

Table games available on mobile devices: nine.

Types: Poker, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat, Specialty.

There isn’t a live casino, but there are “play vs. the computer” table games that also feature a good mix of titles.

Number of Games: eight.

Games available on mobile devices: four.

Even though classic is housed in the table games area, there are eight completely different games in this Blackjack area.

Video Poker

Number of Games: 17.

Games available on mobile devices: eight.

Types: single and multi-hand.

We’d love to see a bit more in this section as the games are as basic as they come. The only thing that jazzes it up is the availability of some multi-hand options – 3, 5, 10, and 52.

Specialty Games

Number of Games: 21.

Games available on mobile devices: 13.

Types: Bingo, Scratchcards, Keno, Other.

The Poker Room

When Ignition launched in 2016, it also acquired its poker room from Bovada, a sister site that also caters exclusively to Americans.

The poker room shares in the $2,000 welcome bonus by providing up to $1,000 in poker rewards that are issued within a 30 day period based on play.

Poker is available via download in English, Spanish, and Chinese, and offers a lot of promotions, tournaments, and special features.

Special Features

Quick Seat: Pick your game and your stake, and you’re automatically seated. For mobile players, the quick seat is a particularly handy feature.

Mobile Poker: The poker room is available for handy on the go play through smartphones or tablets. The quick seat combined with mobile access is especially beneficial as navigation is kept to a minimum.

Zone Poker: This option keeps you playing without having to wait through other players’ moves after you’ve folded your hand. Once you fold, you’re now on a new table and ready to play again. No wait time required.

Anonymous Tables: No one knows who you are or how you play.

All-in percentage feature: A percentage bar will display your probability of winning if you opt to go all in on a certain hand.

Rabbit Cam: Curious? Find out what the next card would have been.

Multiple tournaments: You can play up to 20 at once.

Instant Heads Up Rematch: Whether friend or foe, you can play the same player again in a follow-up rematch.

These are just some of the features of the poker room. You can customize your table and use all kinds of little enhancements like card animation to increase the fun factor.

Final Notes

After Ignition lost its original Kahnawake licensing, it should have quickly secured an alternative. This is a relatively new site and not having an overseeing organization leaves players with no recourse if they have any issues in payouts or other services. Additionally, charging for deposits is never a good idea but charging nearly 10% is unheard of when so many other sites provide fee-free transactions in both directions.

It’s an overall good small-sized casino and could be made so much better by elevating player services and adding in some additional casino tournaments and promotions to provide added value without wagering requirements.
